The People with Pets Outreach Project provides pet care for low income pet parents who have unexpectedly been hospitalized. Our mission is to provide peace of mind for the hospitalized patient that their pet is being cared for while they are focusing on regaining their health. In many instances a person will not seek the medical treatment that is needed because they don’t have anyone to care for their pet.  They fear that they will be admitted to the hospital and their pet will be left alone without food, water, basic care and companionship.  They will also check themselves out against medical advice so that they can return home to their pet, even if that means jeopardizing their own health and could result in death. They will also in many instances not agree to follow up care in a skilled nursing facility if needed because they fear that they won’t be reunited with their pet.

Their pet is their world. We want them healthy to come home to their world. Your help would mean the world to that pet and pet parent.
